Jodi Cox Davalos, DMD
Dr. Jodi Cox Davalos was born and raised in Southwest Georgia and is so proud to return home to provide specialized dentistry the infants, children, and teens of her community! Dr. Jodi graduated with honors from Cairo High School in 2007. During high school, Dr. Jodi was active in many sports including soccer and tennis and enjoyed performing during Syrupmaker football games as a majorette.
After high school, Dr. Jodi continued her education at Valdosta State University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in biology and a minor in chemistry. At VSU, Dr. Jodi was the President of the pre-dental association and the President of the Golden Key National Honor Society.
Dr. Jodi went on to attend the Dental College of Georgia in Augusta (formerly known as the Medical College of Georgia) where she received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree (DMD) in 2016. During dental school, she developed a passion for treating children and special needs patients. She devoted much of her time to community service, providing dental care to children though the Give Kids a Smile Foundation. She also volunteered at the Georgia War Veteran’s Hospital.
After dental school, she completed an additional two-year residency in pediatric dentistry at the Dental College of Georgia. During residency, she completed training at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) at both Scottish Rite and Egleston. She also trained at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia. From this training, she gained a wealth of knowledge in treating special needs children and children with craniofacial anomalies. During residency, she was trained to be a specialist in the management of infant, children, and teens, including but not limited to hospital and sedation dentistry, behavior management, growth and development, preventative dentistry, management of acute dental trauma, and management of special needs and medically complex patients.
Dr. Jodi stays active in organized dentistry though her membership in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She is also a member of the American Dental Association, the Southwestern District Dental Society, and the Georgia Dental Association.
She and her husband, Martin, have two dogs, Meeka and Madi. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also loves the beach, traveling, practicing yoga, and being outdoors.
Dr. Jodi is committed to providing the best individualized care for each of her patients and is passionate about developing great experiences for each of her patients so that they LOVE the dentist for years to come.
